We can arrange trips to fish the Swains Reef, cruise the islands and reefs of the Capricorn Bunker Group or design your own holiday. Capricorn Star Charters offers short and extended charters for group bookings of up to 14 passengers aboard our beamy 22m vessel, the MV Capricorn Star.
The Swain Reef is the most popular location for an extended fishing trip. Located 150nm from the East Coast of Queensland, it provides opportunities to fish deep and shallow reef systems, troll for pelagics or kick back with a beer and admire it’s sheer beauty!
Heading further East, Saumarez Reef and the Coral Sea entices fishermen looking for big fish action. A minimum of 10 days is required to explore these fishing grounds.
A trip along the coast north to Island Head, Pearl Bay, Port Clinton and Shoal Water Bay or south to Yellow Patch, Narrows, Port Alma and The Bunker Group offers a mixture of Reef Fishing, Estuary Fishing and the opportunity to set a few crab pots or walk on remote beaches amongst magnificent mangroves.

The MV Capricorn Star’s spacious, undercover back and side decks allow passengers to spread out providing plenty of room for reeling in those BIG fish!! Air-conditioned cabins, delicious home cooked meals, hot showers and beer fridge facilities allow you to relax in comfort with an ice cold sun downer.
All cabins are equipped with air conditioning, king single bunks (6 cabins of 2 bunks and 1 bow cabin of 4 bunks) sinks, mirrors and storage space.
The galley, lounge and bar area offer air-conditioned comfort and restaurant quality meals. Any dietary needs can be catered for by our experienced chefs and crew.
The spacious back deck has a bar fridge, brine tank, snap freezer, individual bait tables, bench seats, rod holders and beer holders. Our auxiliaries are equipped with a salt water brine, drink esky, safety equipment, sounders and rod holders.
